Meet the Faces of Philawell
A retired teacher who traveled to Madagascar and fell in love with the people, Karen established the Philawell non-profit in March 2024, and works tirelessly to raise funds to dig wells, build schools, and break the cycle of poverty in Madagascar.
Both Theo and Andreas, native to Madagascar and also work as tour guides at the Mandrare River Camp as well as with Philawell. They procure the supplies and the labor to build the wells, repair the schools, and distribute the clothes and toiletries. Honest, kind, trustworthy — these gentlemen are the boots-on-the-ground for Philawell, and we are so lucky to have them.
